Vata, Pitta or Kapha - Understanding The Different Body And Skin Types.
Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in India. More than a mere system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge).
Tibetan medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine both have their roots in Ayurveda. Early Greek medicine also embraced many concepts originally described in the classical ayurvedic medical texts dating back thousands of years. Ayurveda recognises that we all are different- that each of us has a unique mind and body. After all, we look and behave differently from one another, we have different reactions to everyday situations.
Ayurveda recognises three primary energies - Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Together, they regulate every physiological and psychological characteristic from basic cellular process to the most complex biological functions. When these forces are in a state of natural balance the defence mechanism of body works at peak efficiency rewarding you with health and longevity.
